Romiromi & Mirimiri, Māori hands-on healing.
Introductory & specialist training, knowledge and mentoring support.
This is a 3-day where we learn the foundations of RomiRomi and/or MiriMiri and focus on the deep pressure work and integration of that energy.
About this Integrated MiriMiri / Romiromi wānanga
The technique involves dropping people into the vibration of the ocean with soft to deep tissue work that prepares clients for the depth of RomiRomi work.
This foundational weekend weaves with the depth & flow of Māori Healing, the softness of healing amidst ceremony, learning and personal and professional development. Co-creators (trainees) will learn about spiritual energies and knowledge of techniques with a focus on mental health, emotional health, and spiritual realms.
Tapping into the energy of Kia pūtahi o MiriMiri ~ may the healing love be unified, we focus on your own healing & understanding the energy of stepping into the deeper responsibility, love & care of healing.
This work is a Māori practice and is taught within a Māori framework and worldview, however, Māori and non-Māori are welcome.
Those who are drawn towards learning for their own growth are encouraged to attend.

The skills and techniques transmitted in this practice are universal and this is a lifetime journey.
People are taking this course for a range of reasons, for example, to connect back into their cultural roots, to enhance their own consciousness practice and simply because they feel a full-body yes.

The word broken up indicates Ro ~ internal and Mi ~ to stimulate.
Kind Words from Ako Torowhānui Participants

Renee Harata
A big thank you for all that you created for us in wānanga. Some reflection & gratitude.
The way you created and weaved with us was truly a remembering & so integrative. I felt so held, not only as a student but as a WOMAN who was reminded how much value we all brought into this space.
You teach so beautifully & because of that, although my head space wasn’t the most clear, I feel that energetically through my body, a lot of wisdom had been received and stored and for what you so lovingly provided

Kyla Hatsell-Pasene
The space that was created at made me feel safe and open. I knew I could be however I needed to be. And when you can allow yourself to surrender in to that, you can start to heal decades of upsets and trauma.
Learning to trust my intuition and owning my truth is nourishing for the soul and the positive changes manifest into reality.

Jarna Saunders
I feel really lucky to have joined this training.
RomiRomi has taken me on a journey so far inside myself, to bring me home to myself again.
I’m so grateful for the teachings and the way you are sharing them with the world, we need your strength.

Sarmantha Coffey
Ako Torowhānui has really helped me to evolve in every area in my life.
To understand myself more. To connect more to my culture, it feels like a huge missing link in my life.
The gift of RomiRomi is definitely a part of me and learning this practice has brought me deeper into my knowing and purpose and how I can better show up for myself, the world and the people who desire and need this.

Jaime Mackie
The training experience has been a pivotal part of my spiritual journey. Feeling safe and how to protect my energy and wanting to practice healing in this modality.
The experience gave me confidence on all levels of what I can do for others, it is undeniable when you feel it with all your sense.

Kirsti Ladner
Oh my heart!! Romi-Romi and Miri-Miri pressure point healing haha! It’s not for the faint hearted I can tell you that!
But oh so so honoured to be embraced and taught by Gabrielle Walker and all the other amazing people in this intake. Such a soulful group. Thank you for all the knowledge sharing and stories of your beautiful culture and translating all these new words for me.

Sudevi Walker
I am totally blown away by the transformation that has occurred for myself. I’ve also come a long way with my treatments, I see healing so much more than being on the table. The art of expressing and communicating how and what we are feeling within and doing it in a safe space where you don’t feel judged. That in it self is a real cleanse. Looking forward to this new chapter, Much love.

About your Kaiarahi ~ Trainers & key support people in Ako Torowhānui: Māori Healing Training

Gabrielle Walker
Gabrielle Mary Rangihoea Walker is a Māori woman from Ngāti Kahungungu and Ngāti Rongomaiwahine, with English & Scottish descent. As a Romiromi Healing Artist, life coach & counsellor, she draws on traditional Māori teachings and philosophies while weaving emerging insights that arise through practice in this contemporary time.
The Ako Torowhānui: Māori Healing practice emerges from many pathways. Ancestral lines, handed down through teachers, wairua and whakapapa, refined through years of practice with clients, and continues to evolve through the living energy of those paddling the waka.

Kip Cameron
Kip Cameron lives and works among the forests of Balingup and has been part of the Origins Centre community since 2020. Of Scottish highland ancestry, I carry a deep respect for the ways lineage is held in both body and place. In 2022, I undertook training in RomiRomi and MiriMiri with Gabrielle. That training shaped my understanding of the body as a living vessel of story, memory, and connection. I stand for respectful touch, clear presence, and honouring the traditions entrusted to us.
The Bibbulmun Track runs through the grounds of Origins Centre and is the path I walk both personally and professionally. Through leading guided bushwalks and serving as a caretaker on the land, I work in embodied ways through movement, breath, and direct experience, grounded in the understanding that how we inhabit our bodies reflects how we inhabit the earth.
