About Tirohanga Counselling
About Gabrielle
I am a transpersonal counsellor, entering this practice with over twelve years’ experience in life coaching and mental health work.
My background includes degrees in Sociology and Community Development, alongside a Masters of Strategic Management. I’m deeply interested in learning, humanity, and the many ways we think, feel, and live.
I’m most drawn to working with souls who want to be alive ~ those who sense there is more to life, who feel deeply, and who explore the edges of their inner and outer worlds.
Although it’s not typical in our space to say we work with everyone, I work with the intention, not the presentation. Across my career, I’ve worked specifically with grief, pregnancy, coaching business owners, students, and people navigating illness.
I meet each person as unique, beyond diagnosis, role, or story.
Over time, a few core foundations have shaped how I work.
I see you as the expert in your own life. Your truth emerges from within you.
My role is to ask precise questions and to offer the right amount of space. I don’t tell you what to do. I facilitate your own knowing and accompany you through moments of insight, tenderness, and change.
Therapy is sacred. Your vulnerability ~ your pain, fears, desires, and longings ~ is treated with care and respect.
In our counselling relationship, we meet as equals. We explore the possibilities of your life together. I offer steadiness, presence, and perspective, while you remain responsible for your choices and direction.
Counselling is a walk side by side. Neither of us carries the whole load. You are welcome as you are, and I also recognise your strength and capacity to meet your life.
If this way of working resonates, I look forward to travelling together and seeing where the path unfolds.
